WATFORD OPEN GRADED TRACK MEETING
18th June 2008
Five Orion Harriers juniors ran over 1500m at the
Meeting and there were some fine performances and pb's.
Under 15 Lauren MacGregor sliced a
big 5 seconds off her pb clocking 5 minutes dead and will soon duck under the 5 minutes barrier. Under 20 Jack Stroud took a 6 seconds
chunk off his best time, clocking 4:13. Danny Penfold who usually specialises at 800m set a 1500m best of 4:29 and vastly improved Frankie Conway took another second off his pb finishing in 4:15.
Jay Andrews clocked 5:11 in her 1500m race against her pb of 5:05.

Lauren and Jay make the UK's Top 20 for 3000 metres - Woodford Open Track Meeting on 10th June 2008:
Lauren MacGregor and Jay Andrews ran their first ever 3000 metres and the Woodford Open Track Meeting on 10th June with outstanding debuts over the distance which rocketed them both into the UK's top 20 Rankings for the distance.
Lauren clocked a 10:51 which was good enough to make the top 10 and put her in as the UK's current number 7th in the latest UK standings and Jay's 11:16 puts her in as the UK's current number 17.
In the London Regional Rankings the girls are in at number 2 and 3 respectively.
Coach Maxine Joyce said the girls couldn't have done better for their first time out over the distance.
